I have had the pleasure of meeting the nicest quilter, via the internet, while on the quest of finding an almost obsolete fabric.
I was searching for this...
The infamous "Paint by Number Bird" by Erin Michael, printed by Moda.
The very same day I put out my ISO ad, E responded. She told me her local quilt store still had the fabric in stock, but only in pink. No worries I thought. I will take it (though I was looking for it in green). I told myself I will make something fabulous out of it anyway. So I phoned her local quilt store and order the last two yards they had on the shelf. The next day E emailed me to ask if I had gotten any of the fabric (because when she went back to her local store she noticed it was gone), I told her I had and thanked her twice over. We got to exchanging emails and realized that she vacations in a small town just 12 miles from my place and we agreed that the next time she was close by we would do a fabric shop hop.
Well I got my phone call this week, E and I met at my local quilt shop and upon my arrival E presented me with the cutest bag of fabric. Yes!!! fabric! and not just any fabric... Flea Market Fancy fabric!
E said she had read through my blog and noticed how I enjoyed Denyse Schmidt and thought she would share with me a bit of her stash. How generous!
Thank you E!
To return the favor, this week I would like to post a Spring giveaway of 2 quarter yard cuts of Valori Wells Fleurish.
I thought the very bright colors reminded me of Spring and Easter colors.
Please add a comment telling me what you would make if you received these two lovlies to be qualified.
Deadline to comment is 9pm Eastern time on Thursday March 26, 2009!
Have a great weekend.

Sometimes I wonder... what was I thinking?
Dear hunny bunny and I have had four legged babies for 14+ years. My husband had Daisy well before we met and then he got me Blue when we were dating. Blue, my ole great dane, passed in 2007 at the age of 11 and Daisy followed a year later at the age of 15.
So after more than a decade with furry babies, why would I think getting a cat would be a good idea?
I will tell you why...
Because she is cute and Ben loves her.
Kitty yoga.

I can remember one night last summer, when we still lived in North Carolina, we were having a small bar-b-q with some neighbors and one had made the comment... "Hey, have you seen the Lego fun snacks?"
Of course, the conversation spun off in many directions after that like... kids, choking hazards, lawsuits. You see where this is going.
I thought he was totally yanking our chain, because who in their right mind would go into a corporate meeting and say, "I've got this great idea for a new product."
Obviously someone did, Kellogg's bought it, and here it is.
Lego fun snacks.
The image on the side of the box showing other products to come included Operation fun snacks, and a couple of other board game fun snacks. I don't think they were ever produced. The Legos did not stay in supermarkets too long either, as I found this box of snacks in the dollar store on the clearance aisle.
All I can say is, "Wow."
