Fun fabric Friday + Pac-man

May 27, 2011 at 07:39

To get back into the swing of things (now that I am getting a little time back for myself), I am going to revisit Fun fabric Fridays! Yeah!

This week I am going to be giving away a yard of Alexander Henry's ink spots. This fabric feels like heaven and really reminds me of Heather Ross' line LBAOM. It is sooooo soft!

Since B is really getting into retro video games I am going to make this week's question based on his favorite new/old video game. Pac-man.

The question of the week:

What are the names of the 4 ghosts on Pac-man?

Feel free to email your answer to ninefireflies@gmail.com or you can leave a comment. Just know that if you leave your answer in your comment, the next person may not have to search as hard to locate the answer. ^_^

Answers will be accepted through 9pm Eastern on June 2.

Because the post office nearby has closed I often don't make time to get to another post office. So I will only be accepting entries in the US. Sorry international crafters. :-(

Good luck!

A week of UFOs

Apr 30, 2011 at 11:33

So I have not been a total basket case this week. I did accomplish some stuff, not everything on my list but a few things.

One thing I did get to check off, besides cleaning house, running, and taking Ben to ball practice... I finished all the projects sitting on my sewing table. Yeah! A little pat on my back.

I finished Ben's boat bag. It's a boat bag because it's waterproof. And check out that super cool boating/fishing inspired fabric.

I finished off a couple of little zipper bags that I was stuffing with gift cards.

An apron that my very wonderful kid offered to model for me (what a ham)!

Two dog bed covers with hidden zippers (kudos on this one as I've never done a hidden zipper before).

And to top it all off... I made a cute camera holder for Ben's little digital camera.

Phew! Now lets see what else I can get in before the sun goes down!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Front yard landscaping... check

Apr 17, 2011 at 06:34

It feels like things are starting to come together. Slowly. You know our track record though. Once the house is finished, we'll probably sell and move again.

Not this time. I say we stick around a while... and why not?!? We have family here. C'mon. What's better than built in babysitters? Nothing!

We finished the front yard landscaping this weekend, after having a driveway poured and sod and sprinklers installed. Yup. Things are starting to look nice around here.

Pay no attention to the dirty porch. I'll get around to cleaning that this week, maybe.

Now if I can just find a new front door...

Mama's gotta new pair...

Apr 2, 2011 at 08:39

Of running shoes!

Yeah!

So when we moved back to Pensacola in 2008 I decided I wanted to train to run my first 5k. I started attending McGuire's Irish Pub's Tuesday night 5k running club.

Let's play a round of Where's Waldo, but in this case can you spot me???

Look hard, I'm in there... somewhere.

While McGuire's was fun whenever there is an Irish pub involved, there is also beer. So all my running when right down the potty followed by alot of beer. So I decided to move on and on I moved to Running Wild and their program "My first 5k".

I got signed up, got a new pair of running shoes, some fun new neon socks, and will train for the next 12 weeks and end it all at... Where else?

McGuire's Irish Pub's Firecracker 5k in July.

Funny how that all works out...

Oh, my new socks and shoes. Can't forget those now can I?!?
